a - develop strong media list -- immediate

e - develop four (4) concepts and preliminary scripts for radio programming in Mexico

3 -- Outreach

a - develop special campaign on Internet De-privatization -- year long, March start-up

c - support for People Link (from Membership workplan) - expand to potential members

d - involvement in and leadership of United States Social Forum -- separate multi-group workplan starting with special meeting of all workgroups

4 - Staffing

a -- hire and pay one staff-member (30 hours per week) -- immediate

b -- hire another staff-member specifically for media work (15 hours per week) -- June, 2014

Current Staff Bio

Alfredo Lopez

Activist and movement leader for nearly half a century. During that time a leader in the Puerto Rican Independence, labor and anti-war movements; organizer of several major national demonstrations (including the 1974 Day of Solidarity at Madison Square Garden and the counter Bi-Centennial actions) and scores of smaller ones; editor of two publications (Claridad and Sevendays Magazine); radio and television producer (and host) of TV program (CityLook -- 1992-94); college teacher (Columbia University, CUNY (several campuses), and NYU; and author of six published books and hundreds of published articles.

Currently technology writer for This Can't Be Happening, an on-line publication.

Founder of May First/People Link, former Co-Director, former Co-Chair of the Leadership Committee. Currently member of the LC and Coordinator of the Outreach and Communications Work Team. Represents the organization in many coalition settings and often servers as its spokesperson.

Founder and main developer of the People of Color Techie Training Project.

Bio equipo actual

Alfredo Lopez

Activista y dirigente de movimiento por casi medio siglo. Ha sido dirigente en el movimiento del independentismo puertorriqueńo, el movimiento laboral y el contra guerra; organizador de varias manifestaciones nacionales (incluyendo el Día de Solidaridad con la Independencia de Puerto Rico en 1974 y el Bi-Centenario alternativo) y decenas de actos mas pequeños, Director de dos publicaciones (Claridad Bi-lingue y Sevendays Magazine); productor de programs de radio y televisión; maestro de colegio (various recintos del CUNY tanto como Universidad de Columbia y NYU); autor de seis libros.

Actualmente, columnista sobre technología del This Can't Be Happening (publicación on-line).

Fundador Primero de Mayo/Enlace Popular, fue Co-Director y Co-Presidente del Comité de Dirección. Representa la organización en muchas coaliciones y frecuentemente es su portavoz.

Fundador y director del People of Color Techie Training Project.
