Here are the priorities that were approved at the meeting:

Mesa on Human Communication Technology and Art

• Given the current urgency for data sovereignty in the light of escalating cyber attacks on our movement, dialogue among activists and technologists is pressing. MFPL will conduct a campaign to promote dialogue btwn activists and technologists to together define technology & communication movement policy.
  • survey to identify what tech mfpl members currently use for communication beyond what mfpl offers (specifically use of social media; how concerned are members around data security
  • popular education for members and the movement around race and class & cultural issues which get in the way of the conversation
• Continue & expand the techie of color training program
• develop & launch campaign of educational & informational videos around MFPL issues & services

Mesa on International / Earthcare

• Using jitsi and/or other open source tools, institute sessions where members across borders can share information on how Internet privacy threats are manifesting in their respective communities. Use content from these sessions to create political education resources, including international panels at various meeting such as LeftForum.
• Strengthen relationships with major international movements, including Internet Social Forum, World March of Women, WSF in Montreal, Climate Convergence
• Coordinate learning from each MFPL member to learn what work they are doing, how they use MFPL technology, what gaps and needs they have, with a goal of identifying and building links between members and especially across borders

Mesa organized with various online participants

• Link an "Internet privacy campaign" to local, day-to-day sureillence (street/building cameras, criminal records, police surveillence)

Mesa on Human rights, peoples rights, and democracy

• Increase membership fees in a tiered and equitable manner that does not exclude anyone. This should be done for the purpose of growing Mayfirst's membership, infrastructure, capacity for outreach, and to provide resources for driving priority issues.
• Engage members from marginalized communities for capacity building and education, to increase engagement and nurture leadership within the collective.
• Build a voice to fight against the oppressive use of technology. This includes developing an analysis of how technology is used oppressively, and using that analysis to educate our membership base.

Derechos Humanos

• Diseñar metodologías de diagnóstico de riesgo a la seguridad informática y en las comunicaciones del movimiento social, que incluya estudios de caso, sistematización de experiencias, revisión de las prácticas actuales, etc.

Medios y Tecnología

• Iniciar el estudio de necesidad y factibilidad para la adquisición y operación de servidores en México y otros países del Sur Global que atienda las necesidades de los miembros y sectores de esos países
• Promover las herramientas de software libre, así como la capacitación en el diseño y programación de Bases de Datos de acuerdo con las necesidades de las organizaciones miembro
• Presentar a los miembros una tabla comparativa de las herramientas con que cuenta Primero de Mayo Enlace Popular y las que se ofrecen en el mercado privativo, identificando ventajas y desventajas
• Ofrecer claridad sobre su forma y lógica de documentación, dar a conocer sus árbol de información para lograr el entendimiento de sus miembros y fomente su participación.
• Desarrollar como estrategia política la colaboración, alianza y fortalecimiento junto con los medios de comunicación alternativos del movimiento social.

Cultura y Comunicación

• Realizar las investigaciones necesarias para minimizar las fallas que se vienen experimentando con el uso de nuestro sistema de comunicación MEXCLA.
• Promover la distribución de contenidos culturales copyleft, y estrechar lazos de colaboración con la comunidad cultural comprometida con el movimiento social de cambio (NOTA: por error, este punto no fue leído en las conclusiones).
• Desarrollar una comunicación más sencilla y clara hacia sus miembros, además de promover campañas constantes de intereses comunes y de herramientas de uso disponibles.
• Afianzarse como vinculo entre las organizaciones a partir de su labor, promoviendo la relación de organizaciones de base.
• Romper la barrera de la lengua en su comunicación y trabajo así como su sitio web.
• Implementar estrategias lúdicas (educación popular) que busquen generar recursos para sostener su infraestructura, fiestas comunitarias que contemplen talleres que propaguen el conocimiento y finquen vínculos entre las organizaciones e individuos miembro.
• Debe de insertarse en las agendas de temas centrales, exponerse en foros y medios, así como buscar convergencias con otras organizaciones.
