2013 Membership Meeting

This is the planning page for the 2013 Membership Meeting.

The meeting will take place over two months during which members will meet in three lead-up meetings organized by mesa and then converge in the decision-making meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Nominations are now closed. Voting will begin Monday, October 14, 2013.

Mesas

Mesa means "table" in spanish and is being used to distinguish the three topic areas we will be addressing (Infrastructure, Movements, and Democracy). More details are available about each of the three mesas, including how to submit and view proposals being made.

Participation

How do I participate? There are many ways!

The preliminary meetings will only be held by conference call (you are welcome to gather with other members and participate by speaker phone if you like).

The face-to-face meeting will be held in person in New York and in Mexico City and be held by conference call for people unable to attend in person in either location.

The face-to-face meeting will be held on Saturday, October 19, from 10:00 am New York/9:00 am Mexico City to 5:00 pm New York/4:00 pm Mexico City. It will held at:

  • New York: Alwan for the Arts 16 Beaver Street, 4th Floor (between Broad Street & Broadway) New York, NY 10004. Childcare will be provided based on need. If you need childcare, please email info@mayfirst.org by Friday, October 11. If you miss the deadline, email us anyway and we can try to make provisions for you.
  • Mexico City: La Casa de la Solidaridad, Patricio Sanz 449, Col. del Valle, (a 3 cuadras del metrobus Poliforum),

en México D.F.

All meetings will have simultaneous interpretation (spanish and english).
