5 The thinking around this proposal and timeline is that the MFPL staff have too much on their plate through the USSF in June 2010. Additionally, in the three months prior to the USSF a lot of potential MFPL members will be very focused on their own USSF work. Therefore, membership recruitment work in the first half of 2010 should be taken up by the Leadership Committee and focused during the first quarter of the year (Jan - Mar 2010). Advertising should highlight the major role MFPL is playing in the USSF. It should also be implemented for the first six months of 2010.
4Following is a membership campaign outline for 2010. The outline is designed to complement our work with the US Social Forum and take into account periods of intense social forum organizing (during the months leading up to the forum) for both us and the members who we want to help us with recruitment. The goal is to prepare during the less intense periods.

1010Activities: drafting, editing and approving text and ads. identifying magazines to advertise in and their cost.

12The target for the materials are people involved in and coming to the social forum. For this drive, the politics of the organization will be known widely, however, our role as a membership organization with hosting benefits will be far less widely known, making that aspect of our organization an important part of the message.
