    3 The MOSH acronym for May First/People Link servers emerged as we transitioned to [wiki:puppet] as our primary server maintenance infrastructure.  As we attempted to divide up the approx. 100 servers, it became clear that we lacked a clear terminology for differentiating server purpose.  MOSH became the accidental term used to describe the most important servers for May First/People Link [wiki:technology_infrastructure infrastructure], those most often used to serve web content.
     3MOSH servers refer to servers that provide web and email hosting for most May First/People Members, in contrast with the dozens of specialty servers the provide functions like backup, video streaming, DNS, etc.
