Work that is required at MFPL includes membership support (ticketing system, hosting installation, communications strategy development), server maintenance (repairs, installation, upgrade), outreach and education (conducting workshops, writing and blogging, develop organizational strategy, represent the organization publicly).

Alfredo and Jamie are co-directors and consistently put in hours at the Brooklyn office to do MFPL work.

Others are less frequently participating in MFPL work by working as organizers for events, member support and development projects, and through the ticketing system, for example.

This issue makes an appearance on the agenda because at this time there is a sense that there is no staff or everyone is staff. But there is a conversation that could take place around payment for work, in essence, requiring the creation of a defined category "staff".
