Network Event/Peoples Movements Assembly Agenda

Vision: There is a dis-connect between organizers and activists doing on the ground movement work and techies and developers pushing the limits of the Internet, shaping how it will work in the future. Attempts at bridging

  • 10:00 - 10:15 am: coffee, bagels
  • 10:15 - 12:15 am: Panel: Organizers' Priorities for the Internet: What should be our priorities? What are your concerns?

      • Mauricio (Remote via Skype)
      • Ayenay (Praxis Project)

      • Notes taken online (and projected for those in the room), noting all concerns for tech presenters to address
      • Live video stream
  • 12:15 - 12:30 am: Break
  • 12:30 - 1:30 pm: Tech Demo Rotation, introduced and framed by Alfredo. We split the group into the number of presenters we have. We split the time available by the number of presenters. Each presenter demonstrates to their small group and takes questions, then we rotate and repeat.
  • 1:30 - 2:15 pm: lunch
  • 2:15 - 3:30 pm: Small group discussions: Given the organizer priorities, and what is currently available, what steps should May First/People Link prioritize on the Internet?
  • 3:30 - 3:45 pm: break
  • 3:45 - 5:00 pm: Report back and discussion - plan what proposals to take to MFPL members meeting

5:00 pm - out for celebration drinks and dinner.
