= Interpretation Schedule = Based on the internationalization team meetings, we've come up with the following plan. We will have 12 people in person and we plan to enable all 12 participants the option of speaking either english or spanish. We have one person calling in who we expect to want english, and two people calling in who we expect to want spanish. For the people calling in, we will have two laptop computers connected to two conference calls: one for english and one for spanish. Each laptop will have speakers that allow people on the phone to be heard in the room. And, each laptop will have a microphone that will pick up the conversation in the room. When a phone participant is speaking, their in-room microphone will be manually muted by a volunteer LC member to avoid feedback. We plan to have two interpreters at all times. One interpreter will be on, while the other one rests. Both interpreters will do both spanish to english and english to spanish. Interpretation for the people in the room: * Every one in the room will have the option of wearing a headset (provided by Audre Lorde Project - thanks ALP!) * One interpreter will broadcast to each headset. When english is being spoken, the interpreter will speak spanish (and english speakers will remove their headsets to hear the original english). When spanish is being spoken, the interpreter will speak english (and the spanish speakers will remove their headsets to hear the original spanish). Interpretation for the people on the phone: This gets tricky. * When spanish is spoken in the room, the spanish conference call mic picks up the spanish directly. The english conference call room mic will be handed to the interpreter so the english conference call gets the english interpretation. * When english is spoken in the room, the english conference call mic will pick up the english directly. The spanish conference call room mic will be handed to the interpreter so the spanish conference call gets the spanish interpretation. * A volunteer LC member will take responsiblity for shuffling the microphones so that the interpreter can focus on interpreting. == Saturday February 9 == * Morning (10:00 am - 1:00 pm) * Interpreter 1: Nadir * Interpreter 2: Rafa * Interpreter 3: * Afternoon (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) * Interpreter 1: Judy * Interpreter 2: * Interpreter 3: == Sunday February 10 == * Morning (10:00 am - 1:00 pm) * Interpreter 1: Carlos * Interpreter 2: Nadir * Interpreter 3: Penny * Afternoon (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) * Interpreter 1: Penny * Interpreter 2: Carlos * Interpreter 3: Rafa
