[[PageOutline]] = Mexcla on the web = [wiki:freeswitch-mexcla mexcla] is May First/People Link's simultaneous interpretation conference call system. You can access mexcla via the web by typing the following into your web browser: !https://live.mayfirst.org/mexcla/123 Replace 123 with a number between 1 and 64000 to determine the conference room you would like to be in. The interface language matches your browser' settings for preferred language to read the contents of the web pages. == How does it work? == * When you visit the page, you are presented with a box to fill in your name and a button that says "Connect" * When you click the Connect button it will change to Connecting... * You will be asked by your browser for permission to use the microphone (on Chromium this only happens the first time you connect to a server, provided it's an https site, so if this step does not happen it does not necessarily mean a failure) * After a few seconds, it changes to "Connected" and the phone icon red slash disappears. * You should hear an announcement of the conference room number you are in and, possibly "You are the only person in call" or something to that effect. Mexcla works on Firefox and Iceweasel starting around version 23 (version 35 on android). It works on Chrome and chromium version 28 and higher (probably lower but this version is tested). With recent versions of chromium, you have to pass the --no-sandbox option until this [https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=770659 bug is fixed]. == Admin == More info on [wiki:freeswitch-mexcla-html5-admin administering mexcla-html5 is also available].
