Description

We are looking to get drupal 7 running on beta.mediasanctuary.org

We are picking up where our last upgrader left off, and have some questions. It seems that there is NO web application installed on the beta.mediasanctuary.org site.

Is this true? or is beta.mediasanctuary.org (on Chelsea.mayfirst.org) a drupal 7 install?

THANK YOU.

Hi,

Yes beta.mediasanctuary.org is on Chelsea & using Drupal 7.25 from what I can tell. I don't think was installed using the WebApp however.

I am looping Jamie in to see if htere is more detail he can share.

Let us know if this answers your questions.

Yes - It looks to me like Dana is correct. It is possible to install Drupal without using the control panel, although it's strong discouraged (because you won't get the automatic minor updates).

If you'd like help converting it to a control panel installation, let me know.

Can we simply add a new item in the Web Application menu and install over top?

basically - YES - we would like to get an install of 7 running on the beta.mediasanctuary.org site to try and troubleshoot what problems that may bring to our current site.

Yeah - it's a bit trickier, but do-able.

  • Delete all the Drupal core files and directories.
  • Install Drupal from the control panel (you may get an error and/or have your drupal settings.php file wiped out)
  • Update this ticket so I can do some cleanup

Clean up:

  • Fix the settings.php if necessary
  • Delete the mysql user account and mysql database that was created with the web application
  • Associate the existing mysql user account and database to the web application
