Thunderbird not syncing laneta emails/ Cannot configure laneta IMAP account, but can access Roundcube webmail

Buenas tardes,

I am not sure whether to write this ticket in Spanish or English, but it seems more of your tech service is done in English and since my computer is English I will go ahead like this.

Anyway, I previously had my la neta email account configured to POP, but the last email that has been synced to Thunderbird was on the 8th of April, even though I can tell that I have been receiving emails almost daily through the webmail Roundcube. Furthermore, I can send messages from the la neta account on Thunderbird.

I was guessing the problem was with a bad server name/port in my account settings so I have been trying to just create a new account on Thunderbird, while at the same time making the switch to IMAP. I don't get any errors from Thunderbird until I right click my la neta account and select "open". When I do this I receive this error message: Unable to establish TLS connection to POP3 server. The server may be down or may be incorrectly configured. Please verify the correct configuration in the Server Settings for your mail server in the Account Settings window and try again.

I have tried to create the new account following instructions provide the two links below, but to no avail. I have also used rsawyer as a username, rsawyer@…, and even rsawyer@…. The error I get when I try to create the new la neta account on thunderbird is "Configuration could not be verified -- is the username or password wrong?" I know it is not the password, so any help that you all can provide me would be very much appreciated. If you could also include a copy of any resolution or questions to sweeneycr@… that would be extremely helpful.
