Statusnet instances should we upgrade to pump.io

Description

I can account for status.cyberunions.org and interoccupy i think are the two instances of statusnet on the server. Starting June 1, 2013 identi.ca is moving to pump.io which at this point does not have a ostatus support, but since identica i think started that it seems likely to happen in the future.

I am debating whether to decomission status.cyberunions.org or to upgrade it. Part of my thought process is that we never know where social networks will go and to have an instance of the free software versions might not be a bad idea at least for development purposes (exception might be diaspora from our past experience).

Pump.io is built with nodejs (seems lots are going that way). I put this here to atleast document if it is something we want to move forward on or not. Yes i know we have friendica, which might be the influencing factor here. Just want to gather thoughts on it.

This is something to look at but seems it will need to be done on a wheezy server http://saz.im/blog/pumpio.html

I am trying this install locally but running into issues with mongodb as the instructions use and running nodejs without apache or nginx...anyone know how to run nodejs through an IP?

Though pump.io looks nice from the installs I have seen, it seems that the features are limited at the moment, it is federated but does not support ostatus as of yet. I am going to mark this as won't fix as I am currently working on #7656
