#7050 closed Bug/Something is broken (fixed)

One of my server aliases doesn't work

Description

www.economicreconstruction.org does not work

I have many server aliases in my web configuration. I have economicreconstruction.org, which works. But www.economicreconstruction.org leads to an error message of the form that that web address does not work. www.globalmakeover.com and globalmakeover.com, two other aliases, work. What should I do?

Server Aliases are only part of the picture. Server Aliases tell the server that it should respond to a given name, but they don't tell web browsers how to find the site. For that, you'll also need a DNS record to match.

in the control panel, you want to go to the DNS tab, click "Add new item", and choose an "A" record with the name www.economicreconstruction.org and the same IP address (209.51.172.6) used by the other A records that point to the site.

Once that A record is created, web browsers will know to talk to your web server when they're looking for the domain name.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions if you have them.
