Description

Hi Ross, Thank you, my webmail is now ok, but unfortunately that's not how I usually access my webmail - I use Outlook to access my email. This is now no longer working. Can you please advise how to fix communication with Outlook? It just won't do anything (failure to update headings etc.)

Hi anja,

I've gone ahead and archived your email to a directory called

.inbox-archive.2013-03-02

I'm not sure why you were not seeing those emails, but you should be able to get them through that email box.

Let us know if there are any problems,

Hi Anja,

Can you verify that the email account settings in Outlook are accurate as noted here: https://support.mayfirst.org/wiki/faq/email/setup-outlook.

Thanks,

Dana

I verified the settings. When I try to do a send/receive in Outlook, I get the message "Failed to update headers" with the following details: The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server.

Protocol: IMAP Server: mail.mayfirst.org Port: 143

I also get the send/receive error: Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for anja@….' reported error (0x800CCC05) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for anja@…. Error: . If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Any further advice? Thanks.

Hi Anja,

This is almost certainly a problem with how outlook deals with imap folder changes. We don't offer support for Outlook, because it's proprietary software. We suggest you use free software like Thunderbird https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ .

That said, you might want to look at something like this https://www.networksolutions.com/support/why-can-t-i-see-all-my-folders-in-my-imap-program/#microsoft

or

this https://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/choose-which-imap-account-folders-appear-in-outlook-HP010355590.aspx

I don't know if either of these will help, but they may. Please login to the support system to let us know about your progress or further errors. We're happy to assist as much as we can.

Hi, I've done this and I can now see the messages you've moved, as well as the messages I sent from webmail today. However, I still cannot see my inbox messages since you completed that move action. The error messages still reads: Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for anja@….' reported error (0x800CCC05) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for anja@…. Error: . If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Please advise. This is clearly not an arbitrary Outlook problem, but directly linked to moving my messages - an action Mayfirst asked me to undertake! Thanks

Ugg...I'm not totally sure how to fix this problem. I think these are the similar steps, http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/email/outlook/subscribing-to-imap-email-folders-outlook-2010 can you try them on your inbox folder and see if that helps?
