Description

I found indications on the web that roundcube has (or could have) a filter feature. I've found tutorials, but can't find a way to set it up on our server. It looks very good in that it filters mail as it comes in rather that when you open the mail (as in horde). If it's available, could you let me kow how to set it up and, if not, could it be added to our server? Here are a couple o links I found:

Thanks, #6194 was my original question about 5 months ago and it looks like it was switched to #6202. It more technical than what I can really follow, but sieve is what was mentioned in the first article link above that did provide server-side filtering into folders. I'm not clear whether you are planning to implement it or not. Could you let me know? Here is the last part of #6202:

See here, "Courier-IMAP does not implement sieve on the server side, and there are no plans to do so." http://www.mail-archive.com/courier-imap@lists.sourceforge.net/msg03736.html Josue, Jamie and I had some discussions. Seems what might be a viable path for this type of filtering would be to implement a GUI in the control panel to create filter files. Problems with this approach include creating email filters in the control panel is not intuitive, many users never even see the control panel, and the control panel does not see the mailboxes to allow some kind of drop-down selection in the interface. After this task is complete, a path would be to then use the control panel API to integrate this with Roundcube and Horde. The other option discussed would be to switch from Courier-IMAP to Dovecot which does support Sieve. Best, Liz

Hi Liz,

I recommend joining the conversation on ticket #6202. I know there has been conversations about implementing this around this ticket, so it would be easiest to follow and join there. I also wanted to note, it may take some time implement.
