#685 closed Bug/Something is broken (fixed)

Re-publish blogs on mayfirst.org before move

Description

Before we can transition to the new web site, we need to figure out a plan for the existing blogs.

I am planning on moving my blogs to my personal site (TBD - running ikiwiki :) and then re-publishing them via RSS on blogs.mayfirst.org.

Alfredo - I know you've mentioned moving your blogging to http://alfredolopez.net (and doing the same re-publishing). Do you have a plan to export and import your blogs?

The only other blogger with much content is Josue. I will email him asking him what he'd like us to do.

I only have 15 or 16 so I was figuring on just moving them manually -- shouldn't take an hour. But I'm not sure if we should put some of these on the blogs site as well. We should contribute there without question. The new site has no blog capability -- it's all feed so I'm gonna use alfredlopez

We should continue to handle this via blogs site but in special circumstances (e.g. Jamie's using his own site) we can add those feeds to the site.

Mine are all on blogs (at least the one I want to preserve)

Are we ready to close this ticket?

Ok - closing ticket. I exported all of mine, so I think the blogs are being preserved. Some day I would like to write a URL redirect on mayfirst.org to my new blog site, but I would say this ticket is closed.

I opened #957 to address the URL redirect task I mentioned in my comment above.
