#682 closed Bug/Something is broken (fixed)

OpenID Server not reporting URL of requesting site

Reported by: Daniel Kahn Gillmor Owned by: Jamie McClelland
Priority: Medium Component: Tech
Keywords: openid blogs.mayfirst.org id.mayfirst.org Cc:
Sensitive: no

Description

When i try to log into blogs.dev.mayfirst.org via OpenID, it sends me to the usual https://id.mayfirst.org/server OpenID provider.

At the top of the page, it says:

The following web site wants to validate your identity (https://id.mayfirst.org/dkg): Do you want to allow it?

Note that there is no name of the web site given. This is worrisome. Shouldn't it report on who is making the request?

Hm. This may be a bug with the OpenID consumer code in blogs.dev.mayfirst.org. When I try this from other OpenID consumers, I am seeing the web site URL.

this was resolved with our switch to drupal as the OpenID provider for id.mayfirst.org.
