Reported by: jennifer.seavey@… Owned by: Ross
Priority: Medium Component: Tech
Keywords: file-permissions Cc: kmontenegro@…
Sensitive: no

Description

Hi, we're having trouble with the files on new site.

Need files directory writeable by the web application the sites/default/files directory needs to be owned by the apache user I believe this is www_data

currently the files directory is set to be writeable by everyone and that is not ideal so the files directory should be owned by www_data and permissions of 755

Hi Jennifer,

It looks like you need to change the user to apalctrestle on the advancingjustice-la.org domain. You seem to have added most of the files to that domain with a different user trestledidthis. Generally, we suggest using a single user for website editing and that that user be the same as the group.

If you need help getting the permissions set correctly, let me know.
