#5522 closed Bug/Something is broken (invalid)

Errors on site ( max_packet_size ?)

Reported by: Owned by:
Priority: Urgent Component: Tech
Keywords: mysql civicrm Cc:
Sensitive: no

Our site, is throwing errors: "Additional uncaught exception thrown while handling exception."

Research shows that this is usually due to a low sql packet size setting. Could you please increase this for chavez? Any other advice?

Oh, I meant to mention that I did a full DB restore from before the errors, so I expect this isn't a DB issue.

The error message i'm seeing when i visit is:

Unknown column `base.access_exposed`

within a query that aliases the rules_config table to base.

So if your rules_config table doesn't have an access_exposed column in it, that is the proximate cause of the errors.

If that's the case, the packet size setting isn't relevant -- something is amiss in the site's database.

I'd be reluctant to make changes to unrelated settings if the core problem is a structural problem with the database; if we do that, we might be introducing new problems that will make it harder to tell if the structural problem is properly resolved.

Can you verify that the database is in fact intact and properly formed?

I found a solution on the Drupal forums and managed to fix this by running the update script. and re-downloading a couple modules. Thanks.

If you could link to the research you cited in the beginning of this ticket, or to the solution you found in comment:3, that might help other people in the future who run into this problem. Can you provide the relevant URLs?

I'm glad it's working for you!
