The beginning of each issue of the Lowdown is a special opportunity to welcome the newest members of MF/PL. Joining our online community of progressive organizations and individuals are those invested most deeply in the preservation of a free and open internet. During this past month of February, 11 organizations and four individuals have joined us all in their commitment to community-controlled technology! "Welcome home" to:

Secretariado Social Mexicano, A.C. El Secretariado Social Mexicano, A.C. tiene por objetivo general ser un testimonio cristiano en impulsos a procesos de transformación social. Acompañando y animando individual y colectivamente específicamente a organismos y organizaciones creados por esta institución, manteniendo su comunión y convergencia; animación e impulso específico a integración cooperativista. Así como también promover la responsabilidad social de los católicos en la construcción de la justicia social en México.

Colectivo de Mujeres por la Equidad, la Salud y la Educación, A.C Eugenia Flores Hernández es una médica colposcopista, terapeuta floral, feminista y educadora popular. Soy integrante del Colectivo mencionado, y además de una organización campesina nacional que es la Coordinadora Nacional Plan de Ayala. Ahí especialmente participo con la organización regional, el Frente popular de lucha de Zacatecas. Tengo además un consultorio donde atiendo a jóvenes y mujeres en la calle de Oxtopulco número 11. Col. Oxtopulco universidad, Delegación Coyoacán. En los movimientos que participio tienen que ver con mujeres indígenas y campesinas y con el movimiento feminista. El trabajo de educación popular por el desarrollo sustentable y los derechos económicos, sociales y culturales lo realizo desde otra asociación civil llamada Desarrollo Autogestionario Campesino y Popular, A. C.

SICSAL-Mexico Servicio Internacional Cristiano de Solidaridad con los pueblos de América Latina "Oscar A. Romero" Red internacional y ecuménica de los grupos y comités de solidaridad "Oscar A. Romero" , fundada en México. su base es la Casa de la Solidaridad "Sergio Méndez Arceo" en la Ciudad de México, DF. Iniciamos con el proyecto de La Neta desde su nacimiento y ofrecemos nuestras instalaciones para todo tipo de reunión relacionada con la solidaridad, ONG´s, defensa y promoción de derechos humanos, ecumenismo, educación para la paz.

Movimiento Independiente de Trabajadores El Movimiento Independiente de Trabajadores es una alternativa de lucha que se formaliza el día 6 de marzo de 2010 por varios grupos de trabajadores de base y algunas organizaciones aliadas, integrada por Jornaleros, vendedores ambulantes, trabajadoras de casa, restaurantes, bodegas, trabajadores de construcción, de jardinería, mudanzas, jubilados, choferes etc.

Occupy Saint-Petersburg, Russia Andrew Glover Youth Program The Andrew Glover Youth Program is a non-profit alternative prison program for juvenile offenders on the Lower East Side and in East Harlem. The program, which was created in 1978, has an amazing success record, helping hundreds of kids a year to permanently turn away from crime; the success rate for those who enter the program is over 90%. The cost per client is just $2,900 a year, compared with more than $260,000 a year to keep a juvenile in prison.

Communities united for Police Reform CPR is a coalition of many community organizations and nonprofits in NYC (including many other MF/PL member organizations) that is working to call for an end to bias-based policing in NYC and beyond.

Sparkplug Foundation From their site, "Over the past eight years, we have been funding start-up organizations and new projects of established groups in the areas of music, education and community organizing."

Living Hope Wheelchair Association Living Hope, Living Hope Wheelchair Association, is an organization (501 c3) dedicated to improving the quality of life for anyone who suffers from an injury (spinal cord) and as a result is in wheelchairs. Also, Living Hope has been organizing to get better transit services in Houston.

BDS Keter We are a small group of French people who decided to investigate Keter Plastic Ltd, a Israeli company because it has two factories in the illegal settlement of Barqan in Palestine West Bank. In fact its a huge Israeli group with 54 subsidiaries and 29 factories all over the world, and trademarks sold in 90 countries. We just began a boycott campaign for the next two years. The objective is to inform others about international rights, apartheid, Keter group, colonization, and to stop the sale of Keter products in Europe.
