Large emails are bouncing

Description

Our customers have been sending us emails with large attachments (10-20 megs) and a lot of these have been bouncing lately. Is there a way to increase the maximum size of the emails that we can receive? Thanks!

Our current limit is about 20MB - but that includes base64 encoding of attachments (which adds to the size). So, effectively, our limit is about 14MB. I just opened a ticket (#5397) to raise this limit, but it has not yet been completed.

If you are asking your clients to send you large attachments - you might consider setting up some kind of web-based upload area on your web site instead. Although the free commercial providers are increasing their limits to the 15 - 25MB range, you can't always count on the email sender to relay through a server that allows such large attachments - so some of the bounces may be happening before the message even reaches us.
