Description

Upon logging out of the new webmail system, I was given a Horde login screen with two new options - language and mode. Mode has three options - traditional, dynamic, and minimalist. Logging in with mode set to traditional worked - the other two did not.

I don't know if you plan to offer those modes or not, but if you are, there should be a way of selecting them on the initial login screen. If you aren't, they shouldn't appear as options when you log out.

I think we should consider offering those modes (Minimalist seems to require "mimp" which apparently is designed for checking your email on a mobile device; I'm not sure what Dynamic (dimp) does).

However - my overriding desire is to make the switch to the new system asap - and I think we should fix this issue.

So, I took the following steps:

  • in the horde config directory, there's a config file called registry.php. I commented out the two stanzas for mimp and dimp. Once I did this, the mode menu disappeared altogether.
  • I changed the "redirect_on_logout" variable to the address of the members site (https://members.dev.mayfirst.org). I for the live config file I changed it to https://members.mayfirst.org.

So - when someone logs out, they should now get re-directed to the page they were on when the logged in.

If you log in and enter the wrong password, you will still get the horde login page - so it was still important to remove the mode menu.

Thanks Jon.
