#2341 closed Bug/Something is broken (fixed)

Cached CSS is blank file

Reported by: Jeremiah John Owned by: Jamie McClelland
Priority: Urgent Component: Tech
Keywords: panels css drupal Cc: josue@…, jeremiahmatthewjohn@…, jmjohn@…

Howdy y'all,

I'm working on a site here: on June.

The front page is built with Drupal Panels (beta 4) and sometimes, the module is unable to access its CSS file.

I opened a bug:, but...

1) What the developer needs is a little to complex for me (though I'd like to learn how) 2) It's my theory that it may be related to a bad interaction with our Apache configuration

Would somebody with a little more know-how like to poke around? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Peace Jeremy

Hi Jeremy - that's a pretty strange issue. Unfortunately, I'm not able to replicate it myself.

I have two different browser sessions open. One browser session reports:

warning: file_get_contents(sites/all/modules/nice_menus/nice_menus.js) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/members/jeremyjohn/sites/ on line 1685.

The other reports no errors.

I just created a includes/ file for you - which does a lot of debugging on creation of the css files. I'm not sure how to trigger the problem - but if you can consistently trigger the problem, I would recommend copying to, trigger the problem, then copy to

The debugging should output messages to the screen and to watchdog - so you should retain a history in the Drupal log. I haven't been able to trigger it so I have tested my code.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your work. I'd seen the issue less frequently, but nothing is popping up on the issue queue from people smarter than me, so I guess I'll sort it out myself.

Copied the file into place, now I'll see what turns up.

Peace Jeremy

Even with the file replacing the file, I got no error messages printed to the screen when the cached css file was blank.

Any other ideas?

peace Jeremy

I'm at a loss Jeremy - but it does appear that others on the original ticket are stepping up. Let us know if they want you to take any further debugging steps.
