#1695 new Feature/Enhancement Request

Improve display of live images from different locations for Collaborative Democracy workshops

Reported by: https://id.mayfirst.org/jamie Owned by: https://id.mayfirst.org/jamie
Priority: Low Component: Tech
Keywords: collaborative-democracy-software Cc:
Sensitive: no

Description

At the FSA, we were able to see pictures of participants from both rooms on the screen during the introduction of the workshop and at the end.

This ability was the result of a quickly hacked together script that read pictures from a directory on the server.

This system should be improved to include:

  • Better cycling through of images. The existing system cycled through the images and then stopped on the last image, rather than continuously cycling through.
  • Nicer display: I would like to see a web display showing one box for each location with minimal but more elegant design than just a white background and images.
  • Figure out how to equip local workstations to automatically transfer stills from a web cam

The first two elements of this ticket have been completed - however the last one (transfer still sfrom a web cam) was not completed.

at the recent membership meeting, nat and jamie put together http://i.mayfirst.org/ -- a separate system (currently offline) that works to handle this sort of thing. Does this need to be integrated into the Collaborative Democracy Software?
