Description

One of our primary reasons for joining transitioning to nextcloud was to have secure calendars, however mobile app doesn't have a calendar in it, is the only way to have the calendar work to download the app that cost 5 dollars per person?

No, you shouldn't have to do that unless you think that app is worth it. The NextCloud calendar can provide you with a CalDav link that it can sync through which should be compatible with both ios and android calendar apps. I have installed this additional utility on my android based device so that the native calendar app will sync eaily with CalDav. https://www.davx5.com/

Let me know if you need any more info.

The link only takes me to an app that cost 5 dollars. I see other apps in the app store but that is the only one that I see that works on both ios and android. Do you have a recommendation for one that is free that supports android and ios?

Hi sorry for the delay,

I didn't realize it costs $5 in the Google Play Store. You can download it for free from F-droid, the free software repository for android. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/at.bitfire.davdroid/

You will have to first install F-droid which gives you access to a lot of other nice free software apps as well.

I haven't set this up on ios yet but I think it should be possible without an app. https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12/user_manual/pim/sync_ios.html

Let me know if you have any problem with either of those methods.
