How can We foward an Email Box on MF to Another on MF

Please advise on this. Recieved this Request from Client.

I want all the lisa_stuart email forwarded but I need my email needs to say lisa_gibbons

However, Client also wrote this. I need to get my email and lisa_gibbons instead of lisa_stuart. Getting clarifification on that Statement.

Question for Statement one how do you foward a MF Email to another MF Email? Question for Statement two can we Edit Stuart mailbox to say Gibbons? If that their request. How would that be accomplished Thanks? Any questions please ask. Appreciate you help in this Matter.

Currently the email account lisa_gibbons@… at https://members.mayfirst.org/cp/index.php?area=hosting_order&service_id=2&hosting_order_id=1000814&action=edit&item_id=102184

forwards to the user account "lisa_stuart" at https://members.mayfirst.org/cp/index.php?area=hosting_order&hosting_order_id=1000814

however, in the drup7.uwsclient.com set up at https://members.mayfirst.org/cp/index.php?area=hosting_order&hosting_order_id=1000814&service_id=1

the user account associated with user "lisa_stuart" at

Preferred set up being requested by client is now :

  1. Receive and Send all emails as "Lisa Gibbons" (lisa_gibbons@…)
  1. configure the address lisa_stuart@… to forward to above the account (lisa_gibbons)

To accomplish this, can you clarify if we need to

  1. edit the old user account lisa_stuart so that it has her name (instead of uws) ?
  1. redirect mail sent to the email address lisa_stuart to the correct address lisa_gibbons@…

  1. is there anything that needs to be done within horde? it appears that is set up to correctly set up as Lisa Gibbons
  1. also what adjustments would need to be made to outlook and mobile devices - just enter correct pword info for the user account lisa_gibbons

No, the first name and last name fields have no bearing on delivery. Only the username is important in this case.

So it is important to make the distinction, "lisa_stuart" is a user account. Any e-mail address can be configured to deliver to any user account. Currently both lisa_gibbons@… and lisa_stuart@… deliver to lisa_stuart account mailbox.

The e-mail clients can be configured to send the outgoing sender header as any field. So if you have correctly configured the lisa_stuart Horde account to always send now as "lisa_gibbons@…" you should be fine. The same can be done in roundube.mayfirst.org or any other e-mail client/app to be used.

There is no account "lisa_gibbons". All e-mail clients/apps need to connect to the server as lisa_stuart where they will see all mail to that mailbox. See my above comment about configuring them to always send with the new address.

So just to reiterate you can continue using the user name lisa_stuart , receive mail from both the old and new address and send mail as the new address.

Of course what you might really want is to change the user name to lisa_gibbons. Unfortunately we don't have any easy way to do that without creating a new user account and jumping through some hoops to get archived mail from the older user into the new users inbox. Let me know if you decide you want to that instead of the above solution.

Hi Jaime, a quick update, we have tested and when logged in to horde it sends correctly with the new desired name as sender "Lisa Gibbons" both for new emails and replies.

When we asked client to send a reply sent to the address lisa_gibbons@… from 1)iphone and 2)outlook (Desktop) the sending email is still showing as lisa_stuart@…

We believe therefore that this can be fixed by simply editing the configuration on the phone and outlook (?)

As regards points 3 and 4, the correct user name then inputted into those devices should be lisa_stuart. So the issue is simply to change the associated email as lisa_gibbons@… and input first and last name as Lisa Gibbons

If above is true, then we can walk her through those steps, can you confirm that these links contain the latest updated correct settings for outlook and iphone (?) : https://support.mayfirst.org/wiki/faq/email/setup-iphone https://support.mayfirst.org/wiki/faq/email/setup-outlook

Lastly, we believe these need to be congfigured as IMAP since client will still need to access email from horde, remotely.

Yes. That is correct.

Unfortunately we don't have access to Windows or iphone here so that documentation might not reflect the newest Windows or Iphone interface but the settings recommended there have not changed.

Lastly, we believe these need to be congfigured as IMAP since client will still need to access email from horde, remotely.

Yes setting the account up to use the imap protocol would be recommended in this case.
