Description (last modified by )
I have seen about a dozen tickets discussing this. And I'm a bit brain fried atm..
IMO, this should be the first item discussed on "How to install Drupal" type tutorials.
We created findcarla.net but also have several other related domains listed as aliases, i.e. findcarla.network.
Others 1) helping admin the website setup and 2)others controlling content.
we have been using findcarla.net as our sandbox setting it up, but that can't continue obviously once it officially goes live. So need advice on how best to install a development site.
for the dev site:
dev/findCarla.net ?
findcarla.net/dev ?
findcarla.network/dev ? (with front page pointing to findcarla.net)
We are also contemplating a Spanish domain name and even a .pe domain since communicating with the boots on the ground in Peru where Carla disappeared is the most critical. Perhaps something like [Ayuda]HallarCarla.net or [Ayuda]LocalizarCarla.pe
Are there any issues for hosting a .pe domain?

I think jamie's suggestions in ticket #11677 should have covered this but I think you want to go with dev.findcarla.net
Replying to https://id.mayfirst.org/jamie:
You can add as may domains as you need to a web configuration in the MFPL control panel but you shouldn't add the same names to both the development and production hosting order. The domian name fields in the web configuration tell the web server that this instance of the site should respond to those domains. There can't be any confusion about which site is supposed to respond. I think jamie's suggestions in ticket #11677 should have covered this but I think you want to go with dev.findcarla.net

It looks like there is documentation for setting up multilingual drupal sites and it should be possible to do what you are suggesting.

I don't think we should have any trouble with a .pe domain.
