two users locked out from mayfirst accounts

Hello! Two of my colleagues (who happen to be traveling, not sure if that's related to the issue) have been locked out of their accounts. It is saying their login failed when they try to log in through Thunderbird, and when trying to view email on their phones the message says" The mail server is not responding. verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings."

I tried to update their passwords from my admin access since, but received this message: You cannot modify a record that with the status set to pending-update.

The users are bgaleano and gbenitez. Please advise how they can log back into their accounts--thank you!
