We need a Discourse instance. I've created a hosting order at Before I spend hours of frustration trying to figure out the best way to install it, I was hoping you might point me in the right direction towards a guide or a specific process I should do that you recommend. Thanks.

Yes, it is not something you'll be able to install in a regular hosting order. Definitely talk to jamie about this first. Assigning this to him for now.

Unfortunately, discourse is a complex application with a lot of dependencies.

I'd first encourage you to try out the discourse instance that we have made available to all of our members: - you can login with your existing username and password.

By default, all topics are public but, if you want, we can create a private group for you which will allow you to create topics in a category that only you have access to.

If that works for you - I would encourage you to go that route. Maintain discourse takes a bit of work, so having MF/PL run one instance for everyone saves a lot of efforts.

If you really need you own instance, then we could set you up with a dedicated virtual guest and you can maintain it yourself. We do ask members that require their own virtual guest to contribute more in membership benefits though (typically between $50 and $300 per month based on what you can afford).

Let us know what you think!

Good to know. Thanks! We're going to be discussing options soon. I'm going to close this for now and if we do decide to go for the dedicated virtual guest option, I'll open a new ticket.
