Description

I am trying to add sub-domains and chapter domains to use the WordPress multisite on Kinoy, but am unsure how to generate the SSL cert for the domains to use the same webroot as nlg.org. How can I do that?

Currently I am trying to add la.nlg.org? But they will have their own domain, so will need to be able to map that eventually too.

  • Owner set to https://id.mayfirst.org/jaimev
  • Status changed from new to assigned

So the first step is to make sure any additional subdomain actually resolves to the ip of the same host, kinoy, in this case. You will likely need to add an "a" type DNS record for each new subdomain to make this happen and then allow enough time for the new DNS record to propagate. It looks like you've already done this for la.nlg.org so you're ready for the next step.

The next step is to add the additional subdomain as a Serveralias field to your web configuration in the control panel. This should trigger certbot to recreate your LetsEncrypt TLS certificate including the new subdomain.

Now that the subdomain can reach the host server and the correct apache virtual host multisite wordpress should be able to take it from there.
