Setting up subdomains for the main site

We've tried over the last 2-3 weeks to setup a Drupal multisite using the "Domain Access" (domain) module. We then used the control panel to add subdomains by adding a DNS record and by changing the web config info to register the subdomain as an alias to the same virtual host (the same Drupal installation). This worked when we set it up on our development site, where we added as a subdomain. However, when we tried to do the same for our live site, (, adding as a subdomain did not seem to work as it did before. It redirects to another page, Is there a way to get this subdomain to work on our live site?

Ok, so there are a lot of moving parts to this site. We'd previously set the domains and along with to point to the ip number of our nginx web cache to help speed up the site. Adding has to be done manually there. I've just done this and made sure the TLS cert was recreated to include this new domain both on the caching server (nginx) and the origin server (apache).

From your description above I am assuming will be a subsite provided by the same drupal instance. There were some rewrites added to the apache side that rewrote all requests into which I don't think will work for this setup so I've commented those out. Also since the extra layer of the cache might complicate things for a multi-domain site I'm going to point directly to the origin server for now until we are sure the subsite is working.

Requests to are now reaching the correct server and loading however it appears to just load the content of the main site for now.
