#13859 assigned Bug/Something is broken

Multiple problems

Reported by: Owned by:
Priority: Urgent Component: Tech

Hi, I have more strange occurances working on the test site The most urgent is that I logged out and now the login form has disappeared. It is supposed to be in the footer, but only the block title and the login button are displayed. I'm not logged out on my laptop so can still work a bit but it is painfully slow.

Another less urgent issue is that I can't activate clean urls. From what I've been able to find, it may be because I don't have an .htaccess file in the root directory. I've never had to create one and don't know how. I thought it was created when I install drupal.

A third puzzling thing is that I decided to try out the bootstrap theme since it is so popular. It calls for jquery update version 1.9 or more, but when I use anything higher than 1.8, links on overlays and edit tabs don't work.

Update: Since I was not logged out on my laptop, I changed the theme and could access a login form. So I'm back in and its not as urgent.

Update 2: I found the problem of not seeing the login form. So that is fixed. Only the second and third questions remain.

Ok, I see you don't have an .htaccess file in your web folder yet.

It looks like a default file comes with the drupal 7.59 installer

0 elizabethmestres@erica:~/$ tar -tf drupal-7.59.tar.gz | grep htaccess

I've extracted this single file to your web folder so you should have the default drupal 7.59 .htaccess file now.

0 elizabethmestres@erica:~/$ ls -l .htaccess
-rw-r--r-- 1 elizabethmestres elizabethmestres 6112 Apr 25 11:32 .htaccess

I don't think I can help with the jquery question. I think it normally depends on including the correct jquery files within your web folder, or calling them remotely, and browser compatibility, local configuration.

Thanks! Clean urls works fine now.

I have a new problem on the site with multilingual civicrm which I posted on the civi help site but maybe you know what the problem is:

I have set the localization to inherit the cms language which I thought meant I could use the drupal language switcher. I have made an events view. The dates translate when I change language with the drupal date switcher block, but the title and description can only be seen if I use the civicrm switcher block (which I don't want to use).

I had the same problem when setting up the global justice center's main site and somehow got it to work (so I know it's possible) but I don't know how I did it. I've been comparing every setup I can think of and nothing works. I found some discussion of online that might be relevant at but I can't understand it.
