cpasf.org user permissions

Hello everyone

We have an issue with users permissions in the cpasf.org hosting account. We first created a user that we used to connect through ssh and push updates using git. When we were ready to switch the sites we learn that only using the main user to connect we could move the files that were already in this host. However, now the only way we can continue making updates to our files is by connecting with our old user. Is it possible for you to change the Owner of the files under this hosting account to the main user? Let me know if you need more information.

Hi, through the control panel, in the "server access" tab, you can add any user to allow them to connect over sftp or ssh to the hosting order files. However, in practice, it makes more sense to only access, upload, and edit the files as the same user that is assigned to be the owner of those files through the web configuration tab, otherwise you run into permission issues. From the web configuration tab you can change the user assigned to the 'Owner (sftp user)' and 'Execute as User' fields. In most cases you'll want these two to be the same.

I see right now that ownership of the actual files are under user daccpasf, likely the user that uploaded the files there, however the control panel is expecting them to be owned by cpasf. I'm going to change ownership to cpasf for now to ensure the site is working however you can re-organize all of this as needed as per the instructions above.
