#13651 closed Feature/Enhancement Request (fixed)

New instance of Discourse on a subdomain?

Description

I was playing with https://comment.mayfirst.org/

The Discourse software seems great, is it possible to install it on one of our sites, or in a subdomain? I think it could be valuable among the communities we’re working with. A private category wouldn't work because we'd like to use it to have a more general public audience join.

Thanks!

Another note: I was thinking about using https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-discourse/ to integrate it with a WordPress install we're using.

Unfortunately, Discourse is really complicated to setup and install - far more complicated than you can achieve on one of our shared servers. We use a "docker container" to manage ours - and unfortunately, we don't have a way to support docker containers run by our members. I'll keep you posted if that changes, but for now our members can only use the shared install that we have.
