Description

We created a new hosting order for a site on subdomain of main site: directory.moblisationlab.org. Also set up two users for site access. The basic wordpress site has been set up by developer and I can access the backend w/ SFTP.

But I want to do a couple things (mostly password protect the site b/c still in dev) and can't ssh into the site or create new folders w SFTP. I've tried accessing with the two new users as well as main account user. Saw another thread about SSH keys for new users but not sure if that applies as I'm not sure we're using keys with any users. Thanks.

  • Owner set to https://id.mayfirst.org/jaimev
  • Status changed from new to assigned

You can add ssh keys by editing user account through the control if you'd like the ability to login using ssh keys.

Any user you've added to server access will have sftp access but you want to be careful that all files under your web directory are owned by the user specified as "Owner (sftp user)" in your web configuration.

Also in your ssh/sftp client configuration you want to be sure you are accessing the host server where you've created your new hosting order, in this case erica.mayfirst.org

Ok. The user "moblab-directory" is listed as owner in web configuration. That user can SFTP to the server and view files but not make any changes. And we're accessing erica.mayfirst.org. Not sure what I'm missing.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from assigned to feedback

I see now. The majority of the files were still owned by user dev-al-king which will cause problems as you try to edit the site. I've changed ownership of all files for you to the moblab-directory user now.
