Deleting a NextCloud Circle created by a user no longer in the system

Description

We had a member created a circle, but is no longer part of the organization. Can that ownership be transferred to me (cloudid: clayton@… ). If not, can the circle be deleted?

Circle in question is IWOC members. I couldn't find an id or direct url to it, but it's a public circle.

In process... I noticed that our script to purge deleted users was not working properly and fixed it (causing the owner of the circle to be properly removed from nextcloud).

And I found [https://github.com/nextcloud/circles/issues/26 this issue about removing orphans), but the admin access to circles is quite limited (I don't seem to have access to all circles even as the admin user).

Still working on it.

Hi Jamie,

Any progress on this front? It's not a super high priority for us so if it's proving difficult to resolve we can just avoid using that circle for now.

Can you try it now? I think I did it. I couldn't figure out how to do it from the admin area but I did run this query:

update oc_circles_members set level = 9 where circle_id = 'xxxxxxxxx' AND user_id = 'clayton';

I think level = 9 means owner. Let me know!
