Description

Hi,

Can we host nodejs on mayfirst.org? I saw these instructions: https://support.mayfirst.org/wiki/how-to/servers/configure-nodejs-with-apache

But I believe we are on what you call a *shared infrastructure* as we have never had to deal with apache configurations.

thanks

There are ways to host a nodejs install local to your user but it's not so well suited to a production project, you have to restart your nodejs after server reboots, there may not be enough memory available for your app, etc... I think with the number of projects Project Poder has with us now might be a good time to consier asking for a dedicated vm where you can have root access to install things like nodejs. If you are interested I can can have jamie talk to you about the difference in membership dues.

Thanks for the response. For the moment we are going to stay with our current membership plan but it might be worth while to consider the change you mention at a future time. With that in mind, is there a page somewhere where I can find some definitions of our usage plan? How many sites are we allowed? Bandwidth limits? That sort of thing. That way I can keep us under under quota.

Thanks again
