Description

Hello Mayfirst,

We had a few questions for you here at NNAF...

  1. Do we need to have an organization account with you? If so, how do we set one up? and what purposes does an organization account serve?
  1. If we need to set up a new email for someone @nnaf.org, how do we do that? Do we set it up somehow, or do you?
  1. We have a member who cannot access their email at all, and they have tried on several computers. When they put in the password it just processes until it times out. The dysfunctional email address is nyaaf@…. Please fix this error for them.

THANK YOU!!! The folks at NNAF

There is not such thing as an "organization account" or even an "account" at MF/PL. We're an organization of which you're a member and that's all that's needed. :-)

  1. If we need to set up a new email for someone @nnaf.org, how do we do that? Do we set it up somehow, or do you?

It's done through the control panel at members.mayfirst.org. Log in with the admin user/pass and do whtever you want - email, lists. web config, dns, etc.

  1. We have a member who cannot access their email at all, and they have tried on several computers. When they put in the password it just processes until it times out. The dysfunctional email address is nyaaf@…. Please fix this error for them.

What makes you think it's an error though? A loop can be many many things but usually it's a misconfiguration in the server name or info.

First off, is the password the right one? Should we reset it?

Are you certain the configs are all correct? Which client is the person using? Any information like that you can give us helps us analyze the problem enormously. But I really think a review of configs might be a good idea.

By "configs", we mean the server name, port, etc. being used by the client in the email session. These are set under preferences or something like that depending on the client being used. That's why I ask which client the member was using.

You asked, in another ticket, for a reset of the password. We'd prefer that you do this yourselves so you have the password and it doesn't have to be emailed or transferred in some way -- more secure that way. Just log into this domain as the user

nnaf

who has access to all your member sites and change the password for that specific user.

I'm hoping that helps.

  • Keywords password email added

A good way to test if your username/password is correct is to try to login via the Members Control Panel. You can use the exact same username and password as you use to login to email. Sometimes Webmail takes a long time to come back with a password failed error, so the control panel test is easier and faster.

Michelle has the nnaf password, or you can reset it yourself and a reset link will be emailed to your billing contact (Megan).

Hi Escillia,

I will be sending you all info in the next few days (sorry I've been remiss - I was away) in order to give you full access to the control panel, so you can create new accounts. (I'm the only one who has that information right now.)

In terms of accounts - NNAF is all set up, and ready to go, nothing needs to happen.

In terms of nyaaf - I reset the password (and gave it to Bipasana)

And the new email address has been set up (info sent to Bipasana)

I'm going to close this ticket, since I think we're all set.
