#12121 assigned Bug/Something is broken

Custom php.ini settings not affecting configuration

Reported by: Owned by: JaimeV
Priority: Low Component: Tech
Keywords: php, .user.ini, php.ini, apc.rfc1867 Cc: JaimeV
Sensitive: no

I have the impression all my websites at MF/PL have their custom .user.ini not affecting php configuration.

In particular the site on proudhon

I changed the root directory to web/drupal-8 and made a new symlink from .user.ini to .../include/php5/php.ini

The website works well, I just wanted to fix details.

The Drupal phpinfo shows that only ini files in /etc are used.

I tested the syntax of the file with:

$ php -c .user.ini -r "phpinfo();" |less

Consulted pages

It looks like you've symlinked to your custom php.ini file correctly and I was able to change other common variables like upload_max_filesize there to verify that the changes are being read but the particular variable you are trying to modify "apc.rfc1867" does not seem to take your changes.

I am not actually familiar with this directive. ttp:// I see that it is related to apc which is enabled. Let's get jamie's input here.

"apc.rfc1867" is an unimportant requirement of Drupal 7 and 8, in status page, it generates the message (I do not find it in english at the moment):

Votre serveur est capable d'afficher la progression du transfert des fichiers avec APC, mais celui-ci n'est pas activé. Ajouter le code apc.rfc1867 = 1 à votre fichier de configuration php.ini. Toutefois, il est recommandé d'utiliser la bibliothèque PECL uploadprogress, car elle supporte le transfert simultané de plusieurs fichiers (ce qui n'est pas le cas d'APC).

Other common variable like upload_max_filesize

Thanks for testing other variables, as I may want to change them also, it is very good to know.
