Is a server down or something? I tried 3 times to send an email to a list, about 6 hours ago. What is going on?

¿To which list are you attempting to send and from what e-mail? I don't see any servers down at the moment.

I am sending to: Peoples' Voice Cafe <peoplesvoicecafe@…>

From: list@…

I sent it 3 times last night and once again this morning. When I click on the list it doesn't show anything waiting to be approved.

This is the most urgent, but I never heard back about why I was having a problem with sending to aol members.

We aren't seeing any logs of that mail reaching our server. Can you try sending again and cc support@… so we can check the headers?

Thank you, I sent it. I am going out for the afternoon but will look for your response.

I'm not seeing anything from list@… reaching our servers. Can you also check with your e-mail provider?

I finally got the email to go out by sending it from my gmail account under my own name. But that is not a good solution. Although one thing that came out good was that the aol people (or at least one of them) got the email with proper line breaks and spaces.

I have been following up on your idea that maybe it's a comcast problem, although I have my doubts, because I have been sending it from my "list" email and through your server, which should be like sending it through gmail's server.

Comcast is asking for the account name and the user name and the password. Can you tell me what my user name is, for the listserv? (maybe in a private email). I know my password -- I'm assuming they want the list password and not the administrator password.

I am also wondering whether one still has to send posts in plain text or if html is ok.

In the logs I can see the mail you sent from gmail arrived for to our mailing list server and then was resdistributed from our server to all of the peoplesvoicecafe lists subscribers.

We are only hosting your mailing list not your personal or organizational e-mail. Is comcast the current provider for your e-mail? They should not need your Mayfirst username and password. You should not give them access to your list administrative password.

You should be able to send e-mail in the format you prefer but how html formatting is finally rendered will depend on individual e-mail clients.

So just to clarify. I do not see a problem with your e-mail list. It appears to be functioning properly.

I believe the problem is with your e-mail list@…. While we do host a several mailing lists for you like peoplesvoicecafe@… e-mail for is not currently hosted by MFPL and it appears that e-mails from your current provider do not reach our servers when you send to addresses at our servers. Can you send to other users directly with this e-mail?

You are right -- I was confusing the passwords for the email hosted by PVC's website with the passwords for the list. I was then able to add that email to the accounts accessible through Comcast.

I also changed some settings on my outgoing server. So I'm not sure exactly what changed in either Comcast or Thunderbird or Network Solutions, leading me to have problems sending the post this week, but it wasn't a problem with your list. It seems to be working now.

Thank you!
