#11937 assigned Question/How do I...?

MX Records questions

Description

Hello,

I wanted to see if you could help verify that I've setup my MX Records correctly for DNS managed by another domain provider. I've included all the MX and SPF records in the attached file but want to make sure no mail will be lost for the domain forusa.org.

The MX records that direct to rodolpho and leslie look ok but I'm not sure about directing to roundcube or the spf record. Let's get jamie to look at this.

Hi - Is there a reason why you are moving your DNS records to gandi? If you make that change you will have some of your hosting resoruces on MF/PL and some on gandi. I think you'll find it much easier to keep everything in one place.

If you do makes this move - you should remove all the records except for the spf record, the leslie record and the rodolpho record.

You don't need MX records for webmail - just go to https://roundcube.mayfirst.org/ for web mail.

If you have multiple MX records - some pointing to gandi and some pointing to us - then you may end up with some email going to gandi and some coming to us - which would be bad.

Jamie,

Thanks for the heads up, I'm not behind the decision on splitting hosting resources but I'll bring it up. I've reconfigured the MX Records as you said and will follow up if anything comes up.
