Possible delays on e-lists

Reported by: Martin Thomas Owned by: JaimeV
Priority: Medium Component: Tech
Keywords: Cc:
Sensitive: no

Description

We seem to be experiencing some delays on our e-lists. Messages sent can be delayed by up to a day, and seem to be coming through in the wrong order on a thread/conversation. In one instance we received a bounce notification for one list (when someone replied all but wasn't a member of one of the CC'd lists) before the original email turned up.

Only reported so far on one persons email and email client (gmail) but not asked for reports from others yet.

Hi

Can you give us a few specific cases including the sender's e-mail, the receiver's e-mail and to the extent possible the exact time that the message was sent? That information will help we find those messages sin our logs and try to discern what happened.

Jaime

Hi Jaime,

Thanks. I'm thinking that this may be isolated to my email account, although some others have commented on messages coming through in the wrong order.

One specific example:

Email sent by me - g.short88@…

to: "awl-teachers@…" <awl-teachers@…> date: 19 April 2016 at 16:06 subject: Sheffield campaign set up

Hi sorry I hadn't gotten back to you . We discovered there was definitely a problem in #11675 also causing #11685. Basically bots were attacking lists and created a lot of spurious traffic, backing up e-mail queues.
