Description

Hello,

I understand there is a grey list that is used, and this message should be coming through a second time, but perhaps is not.

We are being told we should be receiving an email from awsfisma@…

It should be being sent to both ben at agaric and chris at agaric.com.

Thank you! Chris

I'm seing the following in the logs from January 15 4:20pm EST.

0 sojourner:~# zgrep awsfisma@… /var/log/mail.log.*.gz /var/log/mail.log.3.gz:Jan 15 16:20:17 sojourner postfix/smtpd[26488]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from stage12-lcmsops.adobelivecycle.com[184.72.221.244]: 504 5.5.2 <jacobsfield>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<awsfisma@…> to=<chris@…> proto=ESMTP helo=<jacobsfield> /var/log/mail.log.3.gz:Jan 15 16:20:17 sojourner postfix/smtpd[26488]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from stage12-lcmsops.adobelivecycle.com[184.72.221.244]: 504 5.5.2 <jacobsfield>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<awsfisma@…> to=<ben@…> proto=ESMTP helo=<jacobsfield>

This means there is a problem with the way their server is attempting to identify itself to our servers. That portion of the log "helo=<jacbosfield>" should contain a reference to a real server hostname before our server will accept that mail for delivery. This is a measure to protect against spam servers.

Thank you very much for checking! Requesting it send elsewhere then :)

Would be great to have a personally/organizationally-configured whitelist for email (I did not find that option anywhere aside from the junk filtering in webmail, which I assume is limited to it's own handling of email only).
