mapping Erika S user account properly

hi, this is happening in mx1

jamie, while checking our map of users of that will need to change their username once they start moving to new servers. I'm seeing here her email account is not listed.

I think that is a mistake and i think a should include her in this list, but I would like to ask first.

Thanks jamie enrique

i don't see the following either:

  • heather
  • mmsc

here i will document those with pending creation and their inclusion. Do you think this is the right place, or am i duplicating a record we already have?

Thanks again

Hi - i wrote a script to ensure those aliases exist.

I just re-ran it by doing the following:

cd /root/tickets/6706/
source ~/.profile

It is still running now... it should ensure that all users who have checked their email in the last 180 days have an alias setup.

It takes a while to complete... but is currently running in a screen session.

I think I see the problem. By Erika S I think you mean the email address with the user portion "erika". I checked and the reason that it's not created is because that email address hasn't been checked since 2010!

However, it does have a forwarder setup and I don't think we've accounted for email forwarding.

I generated a list of email addresses that forward to another email address:

grep /etc/postfix/vhcs2/aliases | egrep -v "\s.*"

I think we'll have to write a script to automate those forwarding addresses - based on the script ensure-laneta-alias-exists.
