usilive and ssl issue

Reported by: Stephen Mahood Owned by: Ross
Priority: Medium Component: Tech
Keywords: ssl, larkin.mayfirst.org Cc: walton@…
Sensitive: no

Description

Hey all,

USilive has civicrm running and was recently informed by a recipient that when they report this

"security alert" appears, which says: "... there is a problem with the site's security certificate", and: "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site - Do you want to proceed?". If I then click on "yes" (several times), I eventually get to open the message, but it takes time. You may want to correct this.

I know i created the ssl cert just not sure what the best way to resolve it is.

I am working to try to create this error and so far i am not having any luck. I do note that the links in civicrm mailing from usilive does have the article links without the ssl as in http://usilive.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=9111&qid=240476 which is not referencing the https This might happen at least in theory because the browser in question sees a push to from http to https but i need to further test this.

mv do you know what email client it is? When I searched for this issue it references Outlook mostly.

Ross do you know why this could be?

dana,

Thanks actually I did not think to look at that, and it seems rather likely knowing labor union folk that it would be outlook. But yeah not sure why it would do that.

This seems to the issue I believe and it seems it is outlook specific http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2772058

Still looking for other solutions. One idea is to make sure all the links in the email point to the https and not http as I have seen in the mailings. Not sure if that resolves it.
